Sweet Celebration

March 9, 2010
What a milestone! Two years ago on this day Tim had is first seizure while skiing at Alta with family and friends. His brain cancer diagnosis came soon afterwards and did nothing short of turning his life upside down. And not just any brain cancer, but Stage IV Glioblastoma Multiforme, which is the deadliest and most aggressive form of brain cancer (average life expectancy = 13 months). Not good odds. But for everyone one who knows Tim Paine, great things were expected regardless of this horrible roadblock. And he did not dissappoint. Rather, he battled and braved his way through many difficult, painful and life-changing storms! And on Tuesday... he proudly celebrated "2 years" with dear loved ones and avid supporters, who believed in him and cheered him on every step of the way.

We are truly grateful to all of you who have participated in Tim's journey and fight. He will agree it's been a team effort and something he could not have done alone. We so appreciate the love and support and the way that you strengthened and carried us through the most difficult of times! Enjoy the photos from his party and a big THANK YOU to all of you who came to celebrate with him. It was a very special moment.

  1. Tim - don't let this go to your head, but you are a STUD, STUD!! (next year 3 STUDS and 3 exclamation points!!!)

Julie - please let this go to your head, you are truly amazing, "studette squared" as I might say in engineering talk to Lloyd. Next year, "studette cubed"

  2. What a tribute to Tim... he sure has a LARGE fan base. But I must add that you too are loved by these amazing people!
Thanks again for watching my kids last night. They sure had fun and love being in your home!
I must admit I kind of fell in love with Fred. I could listen to him and Tim tell stories ALL day long! You have a great family!

  3. Jules, you sure know how to throw a party! That house was busting at the seams with people who love you and Tim. We can't wait to celebrate three years, but don't worry, we won't make me you sing.

  6. Got the invite a couple days after the event, otherwise, I would have been the first one in the door! So sad to have missed such an incredible and inspirational celebration! Awesome as well to see pics of Mr Tim, even though I now know that he's still way WAY cooler than I'll ever be!

  8. When good times have been shared by good friends, the part when you have to say your goodbyes is always a crummy bummer. Tim, you graciously shared your Life, Passion, and Joy with many friends. We all wish your wonderful spirit a "bon voyage" with the hope that the journey does not end here! Peace and Love to Tim's Family during this most difficult time.
